The nights spent at nan’s having a sleepover, Playing card games and family snap. Me and Lucy dancing around the room to Fantasia; The scratchy claws on her pet cat. Nan’s cakes with intricate fondant figurines, Like the pink castle she made for my Birthday. Moulding the most wonderful scenes And blowing everyone away. Nan’s love for knitting and sewing And her vast collection of thimbles. How beautiful she looked at my wedding; Christmas days spent with us all. Nan will always be present In our memories, no matter how small; And no doubt she’s now with Grandad on his allotment, Lighting up heaven with her chuckle. xx
